Veneers
A thin facing over the front of a tooth. A direct veneer is built up in composite in one visit and can be adjusted or repaired afterwards. An indirect one is made in a laboratory to a shade you have approved and lasts longer. We will tell you honestly which your case needs, including when the answer is neither.
Whitening
Whitening lightens the natural tooth. It does not change the colour of an existing crown, veneer or filling, which is one of the reasons the plan comes before the treatment rather than after it.
Enameloplasty
Reshaping the edge of a tooth that is chipped or sits slightly out of line with its neighbours. It removes a very small amount of enamel and it is not reversible, which is why it is done last and only where it is clearly the right answer.
